Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone on ABC’s hit “Lost,” has joined the cast of the CW’s drama pilot “Vampire Diaries.”

Somerhalder is set to play Damon, a smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.

Thesp’s credits also include “Tell Me You Love Me.”

Also joining the cast are Zach Roerig (“Friday Night Lights”), who will play the jock Matt, and Kayla Ewell (“Entourage”), who will play Matt’s sister.

Previously announced cast includes Nina Dobrev and Steven R. McQueen.

“Vampire Diaries,” based on a series of books from Alloy Entertainment, centers on a woman who falls for two vampire brothers – one good and one evil.

Warner Bros. TV is behind the project, along with Alloy and Outerbanks Ent.

He turns to advice from his musician pals as well as Jameson (who plays herself) but finds that time is running out when her handsome childhood friend (Somerhalder) appears. Eugene Byrd (“8 Mile”) plays Meyers’ character’s best friend.

MUNICH, March 6: Germany’s ProSieben and Tandem Communications are working with SCI FI Channel in the U.S. on Lost City Raiders, a new $6.4 million movie starring Emmy- and Golden Globe-winner James Brolin.

Principal photography on the two-hour movie is slated to begin on March 13. Lost City Raiders, to be distributed worldwide by Tandem Communications, will be ready for delivery in October. Lost City Raiders chronicles the story of two brothers who go out to salvage the past and end up fighting to save the future. It stars James Brolin (Traffic, Category 7), Ian Somerhalder (Lost, Smallville), Ben Cross (Star Trek 2009, First Knight), Bettina Zimmerman (P.I.—Post Impact, Pompei), Jamie Thomas King (Tutors, Tristan & Isolde), Elodie Frenck (War & Peace, Possession) and Michael Mendl (The Downfall, Pope John XXIII).

Behind the camera are Jean de Segonzac (Law and Order: SVU, Mimic 2, Ice), Christopher Morgan (Asteroid, Queen Sized) and producers Rola Bauer and Tim Halkin (The Company, Ring of the Nibelungs), who founded Tandem Communications.
